YOU FUNCTION WELL UNDER PRESSURE,
BUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP FEELS THE STRAIN.

Gottman-based couples therapy for executive and mission-driven partners seeking structured, research-informed support.

You’re successful. Disciplined. Capable.

But lately, you’ve noticed your emotional capacity has diminished and the strain is showing at home and at work.

  • Conversations escalate quickly or shut down completely
  • Stress from demanding careers is spilling into your relationships
  • Avoidance and isolation feel easier than connection
  • Resentment, withdrawal, or recurring conflict cycles feel harder to break

You don’t need motivation.
You need structure, clarity, and tools that work.

High-performing couples don’t struggle because they lack love — they struggle because sustained pressure quietly erodes connection. Using the research-based Gottman Method, we help you rebuild trust, emotional safety, and communication that supports long-term connection.

Stephanie Simms, MA, LMHC

Stephanie Simms, founder of Beyond Solace Counseling, LLC, is a trauma-informed psychotherapist and Certified Gottman Therapist specializing in couples counseling for executive, military, and high-performing partners. She helps couples interrupt negative interaction cycles, repair relationship injuries, and restore emotional connection. Her work supports couples navigating demanding careers, life transitions, and patterns of communication that often lead to resentment, withdrawal, or emotional distance.

A U.S. Air Force veteran with more than 20 years of service and a former NASA contractor, Stephanie understands how high-demand environments and sustained performance pressure affect intimate relationships. She integrates this operational insight with evidence-based clinical care, particularly the Gottman Method, to help couples strengthen communication, deepen emotional attunement, navigate conflict effectively, and build relational resilience.

Her approach is collaborative and structured, providing a focused environment where couples develop sustainable communication patterns that support both personal well-being and relationship stability.

HOW GOTTMAN THERAPY WORKS

Gottman Couples Therapy is intentional and skill-focused.
Each phase builds progressively so change is practical, efficient, and sustainable.

ASSESSMENT
& CLARITY

We begin with an online assessment to gain insight into what’s really going on in your relationship. We identify triggers, communication patterns, and recurring cycles so you can move forward with clarity and direction.

PRACTICAL
SKILL BUILDING

We introduce valuable tools that make conversations calmer and more productive. Instead of reacting with unhealthy patterns, you learn how to integrate healthy dialogue in real time.

REPAIR &
RECONNECTION

We create space to address past injuries that have evolved into resentment in a thoughtful, respectful way. Rather than staying stuck in the same conflict, you begin to repair and reinforce healthy connection. Long term, trust is rebuilt and connection is strengthened.

The goal is not temporary relief. It is to develop communication habits and relational patterns that hold under pressure long-term.
